Red Riding hood, the wolf, and a crazy gnome with an ax. LOL.. well the pic didn't come out very clear, but you get the general idea.. I hope you like it Eefie.. I need to know though should I send it on? If I understand right Helen hasn't finished with her own or started on mine yet??Let me know.

Let's check in with each other here!
Unfortunately Kimberley's book hasn't arrived with me, while she send it ages ago. I flickrmailed her to give me some details on where from and when exactly she send it so I can try and find out at the post office where it could be...(I hope), but she hasn't answered me yet.

Helen have you send your book to Kimberley? I believe Courtney is ready to send my book on to you. (Take a pic of your entry and post it here before you do!)
It's been a while (time goes so fast) and we haven't even gotten the full round up yet. We should really strive to find a rhythm so we don't let this exchange fall by the wayside.

Please all check in here and let's think on how to improve our exchange, we're in it together!

Love,
EefjeEefjehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09333219170564777804noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-573590027593476583.post-66149093525272865802010-11-29T02:59:00.001-08:002010-11-29T03:04:50.903-08:00First Entry!I've finally done my first entry in the Villans Moleskine. Its raining here in the UK, but I love weekends when I have a good excuse to curl up with a good book (currently I Remember You by Harriet Evans) or hide in my studio for the afternoon! My boyfriend and I had a wonderful morning with our niece when we visited the animals at the petting zoo too!

I've now finished my Moly with the circus theme, and its almost ready to head to the Netherlands to meet Eefje! I really hope you like it. It was done with Promarker pens (disappointed with the blend results - can see every pen stroke, nevermind) and acrylics. I had so much fun drawing and painting it!

Sorry for the pants photos - not such good quality from my Blackberry!

Eefje, I'll wrap this up and post it onto you after the weekend!

Can't wait to see your first entries!! Yay!! I was so excited when I got it .. then I was like.. gee this is small!!! Nevertheless I am still excited and nervous about working in other people's books ;-) But as the group leader said it will be a great learning experience. As you can see I haven't started my sign in page yet, but plan on working on it in the next couple days.. I just want to land on one theme idea.. I have a couple swirling around right now :-)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-573590027593476583.post-48440664865201710632010-10-06T23:43:00.000-07:002010-10-06T23:50:39.691-07:00Sign In CompleteHi Everyone! (although much smaller than I expected). I have a paper due tomorrow that I haven't started yet (woops) but after I finish that, working on my sign-in page will be my weekend project. I'm more or less decided on Underwater Creatures for my theme, but you never know what'll happen when I actually start drawing...maybe I was inspired by the rain we've been getting in New York recently, haha

In other news, Happy October!

--Helen
Helen Chenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06232771732668937574noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-573590027593476583.post-8691920478838242682010-10-01T10:07:00.000-07:002010-10-01T10:08:07.171-07:00Introducing ... ME!! ;-) Courtney
I am so excited to be a part of this moly group!! I have never done one before, but I have seen some really awesome stuff on flickr! I cannot wait to see what everyone does and I must admit I am a bit nervous about my skills being up to par!! Already the first sign in page has a great person drawing.. that isn't my strong point, but I am certain I will come up with something within my drawing abilities :-)

A little about me - I'm Courtney Prudhomme - known in crafty circles as "cklnh", "Cajun Hillbilly", "Chickadeebijoux", "Louisiana Momma" lol.. I'm 36 yrs old.. I am a stay-at-home and homeschooling mom.. I have 1 husband, 4 kids (3 that live with us), 2 dogs, 1 bird, and 2 pygmy goats that I love :-) Art truly is my passion. I have done all sorts of arts and crafts over the years.. but my top favorites are hand embroidery, sewing, and NOW drawing :-) In the drawing realm I mostly do zendoodles or zentangles. I am trying to refine my drawing and shading skills :-) Here are a few of my pieces that I am especially proud of:

This piece was done on an 8"x11" drawing paper with micron pen and pencil.

I'm 18 years old (probably the baby of the group!), and in my second year of school at Columbia University. My (intended) majors are Civil Engineering and Architecture, although in the past year I think I've decided to move in a more creative direction. I was extremely interested in art all through middle and high school, but let it fall to the side when my college applications were coming up, and haven't really produced much since. However, I never stopped doodling in the margins of my notes ^__^ I'm really excited to get back into art, and hope I'm not too rusty!

Outside of school and art, I do competitive ballroom dancing. I'm also involved in Hoot Magazine, Columbia's student-run fashion publication.

P.S. You guys also might need to bare with me in terms of getting the hang of flickr/blogger/etc. I'm sosososo bad with technology! I have always been interested in art, and studied the subject back at school, but I never took it any further or into a career, for fear that it would spoil my enjoyment of it.... I have always dreamt of doing something more creative as a job though.

I hadn't even heard of Moleskines before I stepped into Waterstones, our national bookstore chain, where I snapped up my very first soft cover plain notebook to scribble in. As soon as I got home, opened up my first Moly and read the history of the Moleskine, I knew I was onto something... Two months later, I've got about 6 Moleskines - a mix of large, pocket, plain, lined and I can't wait to fill them up and buy more. I thought I'd do a little search on Flickr and see if anyone else thought as highly of their Moleskines as I did of mine, and I was shocked to find so many people did! I find it fascinating to see what other people draw and write in their little black books, as well as people asking questions like "where do you write in yours?" and "what do you use to write in it?", questions I've always wondered but felt too silly to ask!

I've literally just ordered my Japanese book from Amazon, so I'll be ready to rock and roll as soon as it arrives!! :) I'm trying to think of a theme to put into my book at the moment, and found some fantastic ideas on Flickr groups. I've got a while for my Moly to arrive, so will keep thinking until then. Can't wait to put pen to paper, wrap up the book and send it off to the next person, and see what comes back.

Have you all done a Moleskine exchange before? Did you enjoy it? How did you start off your Moleskine book sign pages?

Lots of love,

Kimberley x
kimberley291 on FlickrUnknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-573590027593476583.post-16470353315535546452010-09-23T10:25:00.000-07:002010-09-23T10:35:50.095-07:00WelcomeHello everyone!

Let's start with some introductions shall we?

My name is Eefje, I'm 25 and I live in Utrecht, the Netherlands. I work as an editorial graphic designer and photo editor at the newspaper Metro. (It's an international paper, some of you may know it. I am at the Dutch version.) I love painting and drawing and really hope that this exchange will lead to some interesting colaborations.

For those of you who've never done this before, some guidelines (copy-pasted for convience):

What is the Moleskine Exchange?

Each artist will set off with a small Japanese (accordian) folded Moleskine. Creating a drawing, collage, or painting, then send on to the next artist. Each artist will draw on a spread (around 3 pages) then send it on to the next artist. When the artists book is filled, it will be returned to the owner with images created by artist around the world. Each artist has a month to make an entry. The outcome will be a pleasant and surprising adventure, as artists are encouraged to interact and merge their art with others.

The concept:
1. The artists start with the Japanese fold Moleskine - Name, address, email address written in book.

2. Each artist gets 1 month to make a sketchbook entry, and mail it to the next person. The order is listed to the right.

3. Each artist will do 2-4 pages each round.

4. Artists are encouraged to interact with other images in the book. Please be respectful.

5. When the book is full, when one side of the unfolded book is filled, the book will be sent back to its original owner. That artist may continue by buying a new book and sending it to the next person.

6. If a person decides not to continue, she will simply keep her book when it comes back to her. She should email all of the participants to say she is not going to continue. We will decide, then, if we want to find a new person.

7. Please communicate regularly via email. Let each person know that you have received/sent the book. The goal is to have a dialogue. Any comments and questions are welcome.

You can also chose a theme for your book if you want.
When we're all on the blog we can decide on a sending order.Eefjehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09333219170564777804noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-573590027593476583.post-62191252179768447532010-09-17T01:12:00.000-07:002010-09-17T01:16:13.461-07:00Starting anew!Hello!

I'm going to try to start up a new M0ly_x_74 exchange, since the old one died. Feel free to contact me on my flickr page:
Hopefully books are rotating once a month to keep the flow of the group going!!! Looking at your blog that may not be the case? Last post looks like this group died, I certainly hope not!

So do we need to find new members to join in with those that still want to work on the exchange...who has who book? Have any been returned?

ThanksMichael Nightmarehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11696450772957189569noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-573590027593476583.post-43660344826698765562010-07-06T00:24:00.001-07:002010-07-06T00:24:54.839-07:00Any news?Ladies?Eefjehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09333219170564777804noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-573590027593476583.post-71154851473024639662010-02-20T03:05:00.000-08:002010-02-20T03:11:16.735-08:00Are we still doing this?Hi Ladies,

I haven't heard from anyone here in quite some time. I Flickr mailed you guys, but no one answered me. Are you still interested in continuing this project? It's okay if some of you (or all of you) want to call it quits, we'll just have to make sure all the books get send back to their owners. Just let me and each other know O.K.?

If some of us want to continue (I know I do), we could fill in the places of those leaving with new people, we'll keep this blog and all that.

Please reply to this post, even if you don't know what you want to do. It'll be nice to know you are still alive. :)

Love,
EefjeEefjehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09333219170564777804noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-573590027593476583.post-87812193496518907802009-12-05T15:11:00.000-08:002009-12-05T15:12:40.519-08:00

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-573590027593476583.post-8032221628034637572009-11-01T17:58:00.000-08:002009-11-01T18:00:46.960-08:00Hi Ladies,

Just checking in to see how all the wonderful Moleskins are going are we ready to pass them along?
