Nevertheless I am still excited and nervous about working in other people's books ;-)  But as the group leader said it will be a great learning experience.  As you can see I haven't started my sign in page yet, but plan on working on it in the next couple days.. I just want to land on one theme idea.. I have a couple swirling around right now :-)

First Moly Mail!

Yay, I received my moleskine notebook in the mail today - it's so cute! (although much smaller than I expected). I have a paper due tomorrow that I haven't started yet (woops) but after I finish that, working on my sign-in page will be my weekend project. I'm more or less decided on Underwater Creatures for my theme, but you never know what'll happen when I actually start drawing...maybe I was inspired by the rain we've been getting in New York recently, haha

In other news, Happy October!

Introducing ... ME!! ;-) Courtney

I am so excited to be a part of this moly group!! I have never done one before, but I have seen some really awesome stuff on flickr!  I cannot wait to see what everyone does and I must admit I am a bit nervous about my skills being up to par!! Already the first sign in page has a great person drawing.. that isn't my strong point, but I am certain I will come up with something within my drawing abilities :-)

A little about me - I'm Courtney Prudhomme - known in crafty circles as "cklnh", "Cajun Hillbilly", "Chickadeebijoux", "Louisiana Momma" lol.. I'm 36 yrs old.. I am a stay-at-home and homeschooling mom.. I have 1 husband, 4 kids (3 that live with us), 2 dogs, 1 bird, and 2 pygmy goats that I love :-)  Art truly is my passion.  I have done all sorts of arts and crafts over the years.. but my top favorites are hand embroidery, sewing, and NOW drawing :-)  In the drawing realm I mostly do zendoodles or zentangles.  I am trying to refine my drawing and shading skills :-)  Here are a few of my pieces that I am especially proud of:

This piece was done on an 8"x11" drawing paper with micron pen and pencil.

This piece is a 6" diameter circle.. It's called "My Grandmother's Garden"

This one is on a 9"x12" Sketch pad and is called "Inside of Me":

I am waiting on my moleskine to arrive and the moment it gets here I will be Doing my sign in page and posting it here.  I look forward to getting to know all of you and am so excited to see your talented work in my book :-)

Much love and God bless!!

Themepage & sign in

Hello everyone!

I've done a themepage and sign in in my new moly book:

Theme: Villans!
Now I'm going to do an entry in it.

How are things standing with your books? Still waiting for it to get delivered? I hope you get to start soon.

So far I haven't gotten a flickrmail from the other people who wanted to join yet, so I haven't been able to invite them to our blog yet. Until they do it's just the four of us here. I've listed us to the right here, do you think that's a good sending order?

Love,
Eefje

Hello :)

Continuing with introductions...

My name is Helen, and I'm currently going to school in New York City, although I'm originally from Dallas,TX. I'm 18 years old (probably the baby of the group!), and in my second year of school at Columbia University. My (intended) majors are Civil Engineering and Architecture, although in the past year I think I've decided to move in a more creative direction. I was extremely interested in art all through middle and high school, but let it fall to the side when my college applications were coming up, and haven't really produced much since. However, I never stopped doodling in the margins of my notes ^__^ I'm really excited to get back into art, and hope I'm not too rusty!

Outside of school and art, I do competitive ballroom dancing. I'm also involved in Hoot Magazine, Columbia's student-run fashion publication.

P.S. You guys also might need to bare with me in terms of getting the hang of flickr/blogger/etc. I'm sosososo bad with technology! Seriously, you should see my grades in computer science right now....

Introductions: Kimberley

Hi Everyone!

I just thought I'd write a short introduction so you all know a bit more about me.

I'm 22 and I live in the UK, and work at Siemens in the Finance Department. I have always been interested in art, and studied the subject back at school, but I never took it any further or into a career, for fear that it would spoil my enjoyment of it.... I have always dreamt of doing something more creative as a job though.

I hadn't even heard of Moleskines before I stepped into Waterstones, our national bookstore chain, where I snapped up my very first soft cover plain notebook to scribble in. As soon as I got home, opened up my first Moly and read the history of the Moleskine, I knew I was onto something... Two months later, I've got about 6 Moleskines - a mix of large, pocket, plain, lined and I can't wait to fill them up and buy more. I thought I'd do a little search on Flickr and see if anyone else thought as highly of their Moleskines as I did of mine, and I was shocked to find so many people did! I find it fascinating to see what other people draw and write in their little black books, as well as people asking questions like "where do you write in yours?" and "what do you use to write in it?", questions I've always wondered but felt too silly to ask!

I've literally just ordered my Japanese book from Amazon, so I'll be ready to rock and roll as soon as it arrives!! :) I'm trying to think of a theme to put into my book at the moment, and found some fantastic ideas on Flickr groups. I've got a while for my Moly to arrive, so will keep thinking until then. Can't wait to put pen to paper, wrap up the book and send it off to the next person, and see what comes back.

Have you all done a Moleskine exchange before? Did you enjoy it? How did you start off your Moleskine book sign pages?

Lots of love,

Kimberley x
